NXT plc, a provider of unique sounds solutions best known for its flat panel loudspeaker technology, is pleased to announce the introduction of further new products from TDK, a long-term NXT partner and flat panel speaker innovator. The latest products include an update to the successful Xa-40 multimedia speaker with two new colour options, and the launch of an entirely new system, the Xa-10 portable multimedia speakers.
The TDK Xa-10 is a compact portable speaker system designed for use with iPods, MP3 players, notebook computers and any other device with a standard 3.5mm audio output. Weighing only 69g each, the slim line loudspeakers magnetically clip together for travel and are powered by either USB or the supplied battery box, which requires 4 x AAA batteries. The Xa-10 is available in three fashionable colours, Silver, Lime Green and Orange and in each case the enclosure is finished in a stylish high gloss white, complementing the world’s best selling portable digital player. In spite of their diminutive proportions, the Xa-10 speakers deliver a high quality audio performance with a total power output of 2 x 1.2W.

TDK’s Xa-10 NXT-enabled portable speaker system
Launched in August 2006, TDK’s Xa-40 multimedia speaker system has enjoyed strong sales since its debut. Reflecting the increasing range of colours available for popular portable digital players, TDK has introduced two new colour options for the Xa-40, Blue and Pearl White.
The compact 2.1 stereo speaker system combines two flat panel speakers using NXT’s SurfaceSound technology with a conventional down-firing subwoofer in a neat cube configuration. The resulting audio performance from the 20W system is impressive; the NXT side-firing flat panel speakers delivering an almost 360˚ sound field, making the listening position non-critical.

TDK’s compete Xa-40 range, including the two new colours Blue and Pearl White
Suitable for use with notebook and desktop computers, gaming consoles and all digital audio devices, the Xa-40 is the ultimate ‘one box’ solution for those that want to save on space without sacrificing audio quality. Since its initial launch, the Xa-40 has received positive critical acclaim for its unique cube design and excellent audio performance and the introduction of further colour options looks set to extend the appeal of this innovative model.
The Xa-40 is launched on February 26 while the Xa-10 will be available from March 20 from selected retailers in Japan.
