NXT plc, a provider of unique sound solutions, best known for its flat panel loudspeaker technology, made its debut appearance in India at the Global Sources China Sourcing Fair held in Goregaon, Mumbai last week.

Established last year, the Global Sources exhibition is aimed at supporting India’s rapidly growing consumer electronics industry by providing local buyers with direct access to China-based manufacturers and product developers.  Besides attending the trade show, the visit to India provided NXT with the opportunity to evaluate loudspeaker manufacturing and assembly opportunities in this fast-developing market.

Participating in its second major consumer electronics event in Asia in as many months, the NXT team met with a range of domestic retailers, distributors, wholesalers and manufacturers as well as a small number of overseas buyers from countries proximate to India.  With a booth located directly adjacent to the exhibition hall’s main entrance, traffic flow was constant throughout the three days of the show where NXT showcased a range of portable speaker and home audio products, including iPhone speakers, travel speakers, netbook and notebook speakers.

Learning more about the market and its opportunities from meetings with India’s leading consumer electronics retailers, biggest diversified conglomerates and some of India’s domestic loudspeaker manufacturers, NXT also discussed distribution opportunities on behalf of some of its Hong Kong and China-based manufacturing licensees.  Interest in NXT’s patented audio technologies and popular open model product designs was high with a number of visitors arranging follow up meetings in Hong Kong and placing sample requests during the exhibition.

NXT is now preparing for the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where it will present its latest products and prototypes, including a range of premium audio models and its bending wave haptics technology.
