TEAC introduces new NXT-enabled CD systems with iPod dock

10 Aug 2006

NXT confirms today the debut of two new ultra-thin hi-fi systems with iPod dock from TEAC, the CD-X10i and MC-DX22i. Since 2003, TEAC has continued to exploit NXT technology to provide strong differentiation of its range of successful hi-fi products. In these two new systems, NXT’s SurfaceSound technology delivers room-filling sound and stunning design, combining the latest in home audio innovation and lifestyle.

The CD-X10i is stylishly sleek with a detachable iPod dock whilst the MC-DX22i is elegantly streamlined with an integrated iPod dock. Both models are accredited ‘Made for iPod’ products and are designed for use with all the latest iPod models, including the iPod nano and the video iPod. The Apple Universal Dock, with its interchangeable Dock Adapters, provides an elegant and simple way to charge and connect any iPod with dock connector to an iPod accessory.

NXT’s SurfaceSound technology enables ultra-modern design to merge with exceptional audio performance in the systems’ two flat panel stereo speakers. The two slim systems deliver the full audio performance of a conventional loudspeaker system without requiring additional space.

The head unit features a motorised vertical CD loading door, a multi-function LCD display with backlight and a digital clock with timer and sleep functions. A full-function remote adds convenience and leaves control of the system and iPod functions at the listener’s fingertips. The slim speakers and main unit are wall-mountable whilst the subwoofer is compact enough to tuck out of sight. Their elegantly understated styling would also quietly complement any room’s interior décor.

In addition to the iPod dock, both systems are equipped with a stereo mini jack to input music from other digital music players, CD-MP3/CD-R/RW playback and an AM/FM tuner with preset memory, providing an endless musical selection. They also feature a headphone jack for individual listening and a digital clock with timer and sleep functions.

Both systems are available from authorised TEAC dealers across the US. The CD-X10i will be available in August and is priced around $249. The MC-DX22i will be available from September and is priced around $299.
